That makes me think Matt... have you circulated the poster to hostels elsewhere in Europe and the Middle East?

I'm thinking there must be a hostelling organization or two that the hostels all belong to, that could distribute something like this? You could send the poster about Nicole and also the info about the 3 Americans. Or maybe there are other places independent travellers tend to go, like train stations or tourist info places.

It's a long shot, but there's a chance that some people who Nicole met on her travels (including the 3 Americans) may see it...

Oh, btw, have you thought to post on the Lonely Planet site?

We've found that hotels in Syria aren't willing to put up posters because it scares tourists. As far as I can tell, there are no hostels in Syria, just cheap hotels that act exactly like hostels. If someone knows differently, please let me know.

We could ask hostels outside of Syria to put up posters, and some have gone up in Egypt and so on. At this point we've likely missed any other travellers because they would have moved on or returned home. Even Nicole wouldn't still be in the area 9 weeks later.
