Re: Update and Suggestions
We've done of the things you've suggested and put some common questions into the FAQ on the official website. Morgues are in hospitals and the hospitals have been checked repeatedly (or so we've been told, and we keep asking for re-checks).
Celebrity endorsements take a lot of work to try and get, and aren't likely to succeed - once they support one person's search, why don't they support someone else's? It's the same with getting corporate "sponsors", especially since we're not a registered charity.
A re-creation is an interesting idea. It's likely more helpful in situations where the missing person doesn't stick out so much. As my mother can now attest, there's no way she wouldn't have been noticed at the sites, and the short walk to the bus station doesn't require witnesses (though they would be nice as confirmation) as any commotion would definitely have stuck out. Also, a re-creation is difficult to arrange - where would we find a foreign female willing to participate?
And the Arabic pages are slowly going up - the hold-up is entirely on our end, not with our helpful translator.
