Good thinking.

In general, violent crime is almost always done by men (95% or so, I believe) so that's what we have concentrated on. And given the role of women in a conservative town like Hama, it seemed reasonable to stick with that. Nicole was pretty skeptical. In Egypt, everyone is constantly trying to hit you up for money or con you, and Nicole was quite comfortable with totally ignoring them - I would be surprised if she could be lured like that.

It definitely could have been an older man. Her journals speak of an encounter with a dirty old man while hitchhiking in Lebanon a week earlier. But that only works if he's offering a ride, and she wouldn't have accepted where we think she disappeared.

A visual aid is a good idea. Not sure how I'll put it together, but I'll try and think of something.
